The beach of the Kaloot in the afternoon sun

The Kaloot is a small stretch beach of the Western Scheldt in the Netherlands, next to the nuclear power station and industrial estate. As a beach it is not very spectacular; you can view the large container ships on their way to the harbor of Antwerp. This beach is well known in certain circles for the fossil shells  and shark teeth that can de bound here.

Most of these fossils are damaged. Nevertheless, they keep their beauty, as can been seen in the selection of shells I found on this beach.
